DHONI HAILS HUSSEY

The skipper of Chennai Super Kings, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has lauded Michael Hussey and Suresh Raina for their brilliant knocks in the qualifier 1 match played against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.

CSK defeated Mumbai Indians by a big margin of 48 runs in that match and cruised into the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) for the fifth time.

In that match, Hussey and Raina scored 86 and 82 respectively and because of the efforts of those two guys, CSK put up a huge score of 192 on the board.

Mumbai couldn’t chase down that huge target and got all out on just 144 runs in 18.4 overs. Jadeja was the stand out performer for CSK with the ball. He gave away 31 runs in his 4 overs and dismissed 3 vital Mumbai batsmen.

Talking to the reporters in the post match press conference, Dhoni said, “The pitch was very good for batting and Mumbai has got a strong batting order. So, during the half time break, I thought we might be 10-15 runs short. But, credit goes to our bowlers for the way they bowled in the middle overs.”

“Jadeja was fantastic today. He provided us crucial breakthroughs. Bravo and Morris also bowled well. It was a good bowling effort by the team.”

When asked about the innings of Hussey and Raina, Dhoni said, “Both were fantastic knocks. Hussey anchored the innings pretty well and Raina gave us the momentum with some big shots. It was a treat to watch both of them going like that. Hopefully, they will blossom in the final as well.”

Despite losing against CSK in qualifier 1, Mumbai Indians have not been knocked out of the competition. They will face either Sunrisers Hyderabad or Rajasthan Royals in qualifier 2 on Friday and the winner of that match will play against CSK in the final on Sunday.
